Happy New Year!

It was a busy 2024 for Hildreth’s and we’re so grateful to all our loyal customers who keep coming back year after year to shop with us. We’re hoping you’ll find even more reasons to drop by this year…

Happy New Year! We’re back to business and raring to go after the festive break, how about you? It had certainly been a busy twelve months!

Summer saw us expanding and upgrading our BBQ showroom to stock even more models from leading brands like Broil King, Weber and Traeger. We’re now a Platinum Traeger Grill stockist, so watch this space for news of lots of new demos later in the year. It’s where we’ll be inviting experts to come and showcase all the delicious ways you can use these amazing machines…and you’ll get to taste the results for yourself! We’ll be staying well stocked with all those essential BBQ tools and accessories too, plus those awesome Ooni Ovens for passionate pizza eaters!

If you’ve popped by recently, you’ll also see that we’ve started moving our Garden Furniture offering about too. Expect lots more premium pieces once the seasons change. We’re giving this area an exciting overhaul and will be restocking with new furniture sets and designs. We’re keen to be your local destination for outdoor living, so we’ll continue stocking a great selection of firepits, and outdoor lighting too, plus all the other Hildreth’s must-haves every gardener needs! Our hardware department will continue catering to all your DIY needs and we’re looking to further establish ourselves as your local independent one-stop shop for pets this coming year.

October also saw the opening of our new Country Clothing store, Country Threads. You picked the name for us (congrats again to Lisa Butcher for her winning entry!) and we stocked it full of outdoor essentials for the whole family (dog included). We now stock some brilliant brands, including dryrobe, Hoggs of Fife, Craghoppers, Lighthouse and Sealskinz – to name a few. Thanks to everyone who’s supported this new venture – and if you haven’t popped by yet, please do!

After the shop launch came the fireworks and, once again, Prestwood Scouts, helped us make this event a huge success. Thank you again team! Hildreth’s helped the Thomas Ball Cancer Fund raise £700 to support children with cancer and their families and we all enjoyed some fabulous singing entertainment from the Chiltern Academy of Performing Arts and some pretty impressive fireworks. The Firework Extravaganza will be back next year and we’re looking to make it an even more fun and enjoyable event for our local community. Watch this space…

The year ended on a high note when we officially opened the lift up to our Cook & Gift Shop. It had been on the cards for some time, as we were aware that the shop wasn’t very accessible to anyone with limited mobility and really wanted to do something about this. The great news is that’s no longer the case. Our lift is now fully functioning and being very well used! Thank you to everyone who’s given such wonderful feedback. Now that our Cook & Gift Shop is updated and refurbished, we’ll be stocking some fantastic new lines in 2025, alongside all those household essentials you never knew you needed…or couldn’t find anywhere else.

Thanks again to all of you and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon.
