We’ve got the seeds, so you can do the sowing! At this time of the year, keen gardeners with a greenhouse can get a jumpstart on the growing season and enjoy earlier harvests and blooms!
Here are our top tips for greenhouse sowing in January…
- Use a heated propagator: Many seeds require warmth to germinate, so a heated propagator or heat mat is helpful.
- Provide adequate light: Days are short in January, so use supplemental lighting if possible to ensure strong seedling growth.
- Protect against frost: Insulate the greenhouse and keep it well-ventilated on sunny days.
- Avoid overwatering: Water sparingly to prevent damping-off diseases, as growth is slower in colder conditions.
